The severe hailstorm that hit Palatine, IL, on April 4th left more than just ice pellets in its wake. From dented cars to damaged roofs, the extent of the impact has been extensive. Fortunately, for the residents of Palatine, Holda Construction has been hard at work, restoring homes back to their pre-storm glory.
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve had our hands full with various projects—each unique in its scope and requirements. Here’s a quick summary of some of the most notable jobs we’ve tackled lately.
Job #1: A Surprising Discovery
So, first we have a cool new camera trick we want to show you, as we learn to work with our drone. Watch as we meet with our client, Dmitriy, to discuss the progress of his roof replacement, and we’re actually able to fly you up to roof level.
Not only was this project fully covered by insurance due to the severe hailstorm, but we also stumbled upon this unexpected surprise: a patch of rotted plywood.
This discovery, although unplanned, will be promptly addressed and replaced as we move forward with the project.
Job #2: Hot Weather, Cool Heads
On August 23rd, as the temperature soared over 100 degrees, we conducted a roof inspection in partnership with an insurance adjuster.
Despite the scorching heat, the results were positive: we found various areas of the roof needing repair due to the hail damage. This home in Palatine is now approved for a full roof replacement, entirely covered by insurance.
Job #3: The Power of Rigorous Inspection
In another inspection, our team member Mariusz collaborated with the insurance adjuster and homeowner to assess the extent of the hail damage. Our meticulous process revealed nine hail hits on each of two roof slopes—a surefire reason for a full roof replacement.
Moreover, the homeowner will receive new gutters and downspouts, also fully covered by insurance. The homeowner was particularly relieved and impressed by the thoroughness of our inspection.
Job #4: Color Choices Galore!
One of the most enjoyable parts of our job is assisting clients in selecting the color for their new roof shingles.
One of our clients, recently approved for a new roof, gutters, and downspouts due to the April hailstorm, just finalized their color selection. They’ve opted for #GAFTimberlineHDZ’s Hickory color, which will be perfectly complimented by white gutters and downspouts.
